About the association

ASOCIAŢIA JEUNESSE & PATRIMOINE ROMANIA is a nonprofit association based in Cluj-Napoca. Its name says what matters: young people and heritage, brought together.

Who we are

We are interested in how young people can discover, understand and carry forward the cultural inheritance of the places they live in. Heritage, for us, is not only what is kept in museums, but also what we learn from people, old houses, crafts and community stories.

Our approach

We favour learning through participation: listening, working with one's hands, asking questions and discussing openly. We try to bring different generations together so that knowledge travels in both directions.

Why it matters to communities

Local heritage gives a community coherence and meaning. When young people know it, they pay closer attention to their surroundings and are more willing to take part in caring for them.
